  • What is sealcoating, and why do I need it?

Sealcoating is a protective coating and sealant that more than doubles the life of your asphalt. It protects your asphalt from the elements, extends the life of your driveway or parking lot, and reduces the need for extensive repair in the future. It has the same principle that waxing your car or painting your house does. It protects from various possible damage due to the elements; ice, snow, sun. For pennies a square foot, you can protect your investment with our asphalt services. Sealcoating protects against damaging breakdowns due to oxidation, moisture, and wear. It also beautifies, increasing the value of your property.

  • When should I sealcoat?

If your pavement is at least a year old and has never been sealed, sealcoating every year is recommended for the first two years. After that, additional sealcoating is recommended every two to three years, depending upon the weather extremes and your personal preference in the look of your pavement.

  • How long before I can drive on my pavement after sealcoating has been performed?

You can usually drive on your pavement 24-48 hours after sealcoating has been performed, depending upon the temperature and the weather.

  • What is the procedure for installing new asphalt?

New asphalt is installed with 4" of crush and run gravel, 2" of 19 mm hot asphalt base mix, 2" of 9.5 mm hot asphalt surface mix. If heavy equipment is not being driven on pavement, 4" of crush and run gravel is recommended with 2" of 9.5 mm hot asphalt surface mix.
